Why is it important to read
In this modern time we are more and more prone to passively watch TV, YouTube, various other pandering content (such as so called Realities about “celebrities”) than we are to read books. Reading books invokes in our minds imagination (about what we just read) and everyone experiences it differently and creates his or her own personal image about things. During that process people adopt new ways of looking at things. Many people are inspired to work on their personal creations, as a result of their contemplation and thus originality is born.
We should strive to enrich this world. It is known that older generations were far more creative and great works of art and science were born. The main inspiration was found in books where thoughts and dreams of our ancestors were preserved. Imagination is developed at young age, so children should be encouraged to read and create their own visions to a better and brighter world, which we so desperately need right now.
As an example I would point out Nikola Tesla, who was from an early age a passionate reader, usually in solitude so he could put his mind at work. We all know what Nikola Tesla became when he grew up, and how great his contribution to the world was!
